I m trying to make gnembon s iron farm and i need to place floating carpets a block above a bed.

So as long as there is water under the carpet it will just float. It allows you to place carpet in the air without using string to hold it up. Incidentally if the string is holding a carpet above a deep pit all the ai will see is a deep pit so mobs wont walk over it. I discovered this glitch when trying to find other blocks that can stick through carpet to make designs.

Use floating carpet for awnings or other builds where you would use carpet with string. Other than that it s the exact same as vanilla minecraft carpet.
